Job news

Recommended Posts

Well, the news is in, and I guess it's not earth-shattering. In its infinite wisdom the organization has decided to go with someone else. I have no idea who, or what her qualifications are, but I'm told it was the usual "difficult decision."

Sigh. Thanks again for your counsel and support through this. I'm deeply disappointed, but very motivated now to find out what I'm really supposed to be doing. Insurance sure isn't it.

I'm sorry you didn't get the job. It always makes it worse when you KNOW you're the best person for the job and they pay you lip-service before the BUT... speech. You'll find something better. I know that does little to help now so do something special for yourself... maybe a relaxing bath?

Ohhhhhhh. I just bet they'll regret their decision at some point! I'm with Paula, things happen for a reason and you'll have the last laugh yet! Good luck with the next job.

I'm so sorry you didn't get the job, but on the bright side..........I have to agree with the others. Maybe this happened for a reason.

Keep your chin up and keep pluggin' away at it. From my own personal experience, it took me nearly 5 years to get the job of my dreams. Three of those were spent trudging away in an environment I swore I would never return to, just so that I could have the opportunity to open that golden door again.

Good Luck, I know you'll find that perfect position.

Alexandra,

I'm sorry you didn't get the job. It sounded like you were perfect. Although sometimes when you've already worked somewhere, no matter how long ago, they feel they need "new blood" or "fresh ideas". They are not always correct. THE job is out there. I'm sure of it.

Sorry 'bout the news Alex. Based on what you had shared, I figured you would be a shoe-in. Well - find comfort in knowing that regardless of what the person's qualifications are, I'm sure s/he is working for a salary you would have scoffed at. :)

Stuff em then!

When you are in the middle of something that doesn't seem to be going well the "maybe it's for a reason" thoughts don't have much comfort...but one day and soon, you'll look back smiling and say to yourself..."See, if I'd taken that job, I wouldn't be here now!" and then all will make sense.

Wherever you're headed now my it bring better and happier times.:)

Thanks, everyone. In the morning light things look a bit brighter. I mean, it's not like I'm unemployed. Time is on my side and I have the luxury of seeking the right thing on my own time and on my terms.

I'm sure this exercise hasn't been in vain, though its purpose may take time to come clear. I really appreciate your words, everyone. :)

Alex, every cloud does have a silver lining. There is something better for out there. I left nursing for sales and it was the best thing I have ever done.

Sorry about the job, but it sounds like the whole possibility of it has you thinking in a good direction for the future now -- your resume is updated, your eyes are opened and you're motivated! I'm sure you'll find something different if you look around. Everything DOES happen for a reason..............hang in there

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
