Co worker 3 yrs out and looking great!

Recommended Posts

One of my co-workers stopped by my office and was going on about how much weight I lost. (now, I don't tell everyone at my office but some people I do trust. Eventually I will be more forth coming). Anyway, I trust Cindy. I told her I had weight loss surgey but not the lap band or bypass. Something "new". She guessed right away that it was vsg! She had it done 3 years ago! I knew she had lost a bunch of weight 3 years ago but she claimed it was just exercising. To this day she has not told a lot of people how she lost the weight. She is short, like under 5ft she weighed 186 before surgery She lost down to a size 0. She couldn't find any clothes to fit her so she upped her calories and is a comfortable size 4. She says that I will never gain the weight back as long as I don't graze all day long. She says that her pouch feels as small as it did 3 years ago. She watches what she eats but doesn't exercise. I am very inspired to see her maintain as well as she has. I know I chose the right surgery.

Thank you so much for posting this ... it does my heart good. I have this incredibly stupid fear of waking up one morning & all my fat is back. Dumb, I know - hopefully time will help my head believe what my body is now.

Perhaps she would be willing to post something on here? If you feel comfortable asking, that would be nice...

Wow, that's so great to hear! I have to say that even though things are going fine, I'm so scared of failing, not losing all my weight, or gaining it all back. It's so wonderful to hear stories like this! Thank you for sharing!

Wow that is so cool. And nice to hear she didn't regain. So she kind of lost too much at first, upped her calories and ended up at a 4. Who could argue with a 4? Not too small, not too big.

Defo a great story and I agree with all the comments above...lol!

This gives me real inspiration as not only will the weight come off, but that if we continue to use this tool properly, it stays off.... thank you!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
