African American Sleevers

This is a my personal experience with a women who now has breast cancer, her doctor and her daughter who been a nurse for 20 plus years have linked this case. Her doctor reports after years of taking B12 injections it is shown that this is related to her having breast cancer. For me, that is enough it is not worth it. My levels of B12 are fine. I suggest that everyone work with their doctors. I do not have a dog in this race. I also suggest that everyone read and research. I will never take another B12 injection unless required. My choice my life. Your choice your life. Know your body and levels.

Please research B12. I have been reading. It some cases it is linked with breast cancer. Do for your body what is best. I have stopped receiving the injections. Your choice your body. Please read many studies, talk with your doctors and make your choice.

Where did you read this? Most research shows that women with breast cancer have lower b-12 and B12 lowers your risk for breast cancer.

B-12 is essential for many bodily functions.

Studies have shown that a deficiency of Vitamin B12 can lead to abnormal mental symptoms. These symptoms may include ataxia (shaky movements and unsteady gait), muscle weakness, spasticity (stiff or rigid muscles), incontinence (lack of bladder and/or bowel control), hypotension (low blood pressure), vision problems, dementia, psychoses (abnormal condition of the mind), and mood disturbances. Giving Vitamin B12 by mouth, by injection, or by nasal inhalation is effective for preventing and treating dietary Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Don't just stop taking it ask your Dr.

I think as long as we're all posting in the forum, we don't need another specific group inside a group. I'm just saying. Our experiences really aren't that different from others just because the color of our skin.

If that is what you think you don't have to participate but we definitely have different issues. I am working with a University Professor in sport nutrition and other things along with my bariatrics and the definitely know that African Americans and Asian Americans for that matter are different. Different ethnic groups have different needs and different issues.

Besides this thread is barely utilized anymore. All the new people are on the app and don't use search.

Absolutely most of our energy is being used to heal from the inside so be patient and take a nap when needed. Listen to your body

Hey everyone. I had met with my surgeon today and the appointment went very well. Found out that I do not have to wait 6 months and I can't tell you how happy I was. Psych evaluation is in 2 weeks so the ball is officially rolling!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
