*waves* I belong here. There is a facebook group, one for WLS Men and one for WLS LGBT. If anyone is interested in joining, add me on Facebook and let me know. They are closed groups so may not be able to search them. Www.facebook.com/Richard.godfrey or rgodfrey09@gmail.com should find me

I'm a member of the mens group. Cant find the gay one.

Yes... we are hear and here and everywhere!

@rgodfrey09 thanks for the info... I messaged you on facebook. Thanks again!

Hi! I'm new to the forum (and gay). I haven't had the sleeve surgery yet, but my surgical date will likely be in early May.

It's nice to know I can come back to this thread for info in the future.

I'm Sean, by the way.

Welcome Sean! Congratulations on your choice to make changes!!!

Yep, there are lots of us gay sleevers on these boards.

@@mr.sean Welcome to the club!!! WLS is a personal choice and for most of us, we have struggled with out weight all our lives. Good luck on your journey and I look forward to hearing about your successes!

Welcome, Sean,

Finished Thursday with the last of my prerequisites. Now to submit to insurance. Now the real waiting starts, shooting fo the end of April, first of May.

Hi everyone! Out since 1986, post-op one month. I am still dealing with the mental aspects of this surgery. Cravings (that I don't really want to eat) and the craziness of being full after 2 bites. Lots of things to get used to. Glad I found this group!

John

Welcome, John

Keep us up to date, I know it helps me to get mentally prepared, as you guys share stuff.

Thanks,

Billie

Hey everyone....I have been a member of bariatric pal for a little while now but I haven't seen the homo section. Glad I found it though! I am about 3 1/2 weeks from my surgery day. Excited but it just got real this past week when I scheduled it. I have been, like I'm sure most of you have been, a lot bigger than I am now and also a lot smaller. It seems like, no matter how hard I've worked, the weight never stays off. That was what made me decide on the gastric sleeve.

Good luck Kyle on your journey!!! You have friends here!!

Welcome and congratulations on you decision! Im about 6 weeks out and I can say that surgery is the best decision I have ever made!

Welcome Kyle,

Finally got my stuff submitted to the insurance, last week. I got a little short with the doctors office. They will not do surgery if you smoke! So, I quit on the first, told them right now is not a good time to be making my life difficult, just a tad short tempered.

Thanks guys! I'm getting excited! I qualify for the surgery, but barely. At my last weigh-in I was told to be absolutely sure no to lose anymore weight. If I lose 8 lbs between now and surgery day I will not qualify. The problem is that I still have a 10 day liquid diet to tackle! It scares me because I have always had problems with my weight and been up and down. The sleeve is a tool to help me be healthy and happy and satisfied with myself.

@@kitcamper78 I have been using an electronic cigarette for about 2 years now. When I was told that I had to be 30 days nicotine free before I could be considered for surgery, I immediately dropped the nicotine. I still use the cigarette but it is 0mg of nicotine. I mostly use it because I am addicted to menthol, lol.
