Not long to go now and i'm starting to get really nervous. I actually broke down in tears today for no reason at all. I just hope i have an easy recovery like some people do and not have to suffer the excess pain and nausea. Last time i had surgery i was throwing up for 12 hours afterwards, i don't want to have to deal with that with my new smaller stomach.

My husband obviously hasn't listened to me for the last year while i've been talking about this surgery. I was trying a dressing gown on and it was tight across the tummy and he says 'what are you worrying about, it won't be there (my tummy) after the surgery when they remove most of it'.

What?!!! Did he really think i was going to have my external belly removed?

Everything i say to him goes in one ear and out the other.

He thinks this is another gimmick to lose weight, that i will lose some weight and then re-gain it all and then some. He has seen all the quick fixes i have tried in the past and thinks this will be the same. I can only hope to prove him wrong.

I will be in the clinic for a week with no internet access and i won't be able to wait to get back home to check up on the rest of the january sleevers and compare notes.

I'm sorry your husband seems like he's not with it on this. i hope he'll be supportive!!!! of course, only you know how things work around your house!

being at the clinic for a week actually sounds like a good idea -- i'm in and out in 2 days if all goes well.

11 days 'til my surgery -- yikes!!!!!!!!! good, good luck and keep posting 'til you're off on your great adventure. this is NOT an easy way out of weight loss and you deserve to get all good things from it!!!!!

Our time is almost here! I don't know about you guys but my emotions are out of control! Excited, nervous, anxious! Dancing_tongue.gif This little fellow is what I feel like!

Best wishes to everyone as we travel this journey! You all will be in my prayers as we head into the new year!

Hugs and blessings to all of us January Sleevers!

Kim

I can't call the doctor until Jan. 3rd (having to wait for my short-term dis. to kick in) so I know I have a long way to go in this process. I will be self-pay since my insurance does not cover any part of any WLS. I was curious if anyone has an idea of what time frame I'm looking at since I don't have to go through the insurance coverage process? Thanks.

From my decision to get a sleeve to having a surgical date was a little over 3 weeks. Self-pay is great!

Anninva, thanks for the support. My husband is worried about me having surgery, i had a very bad reaction the last time and he doesn't want to have to go through that again (neither do i!)

I am going in to the hospital in 12 hours and will have the op the next day so this is the last you will see of me until about 9 days. Anyone who reads this please keep me in your prayers for everything to go smoothly and i will do the same for everyone on this thread.

My TOM decided to show up tonight so it will be in full force by surgery time! Just what i need, as if handling surgery isn't enough. If they give me blood thinners i can't imagine the consequences.

I keep thinking i haven't packed something important but my bag is full so what else is there? I will stop on the way to pick up some magazines.

I've been rushing around all week trying to sort out the family and animals and will be lost the first day just sitting around waiting but i could do with the rest. In the last 2 weeks i've had a new built house to clean and move into and unpack and had 25 guests for dinner yesterday so its been all go but at least it took my mind off of things.

I'm rambling now, can you tell i'm nervous and excited. I still won't believe its actually going to happen until i wake up from surgery, i've had so many delays and postponements.

Good luck to all and meet you on the other side!

Where are you at time zone wise and what time is your surgery? Prayer at the time you.go into surgery has proven effect on surgery and healing. Good luck your journey begins tomorrow. :)

good posts as we hang together!! my surgery is monday (it's tuesday as i write this) and i'm mildly freaking out. mostly i'm having a really hard time with the protein shakes. sick, sick, sick yesterday. going really slow today and hoping it will be better. anyone else having this problem?!?!? called the surgeon's office in tears this morning, talked to my fave nurse (i love him!) and felt much better afterwords. come on 1/10!!!!!!

Hi Anninva,

I feel your freaing out. Today is Wedesday, and I fly to San Diego on Sunday, for Surgery on Monday the 10th. May we each have an easy, safe operation and recovery. Where are you having your surgery done? We need to stay in touch. I just want this waiting over! Becky

Well i had to change my date but im set for january 26th my passport came in i payed for my plane tickets and my deposit for the surgery im ready to go now.

I'm back and i'm sleeved!! thanks to all who said a prayer for me, it must have helped, things went really well. I had some pain the first two days but that was kept under control with meds, by the third day i felt great. "They kept me in two days longer because my drain was producing too much and the xrays they did were inconclusive but i know everything was fine.

How many of us have been sleeved this month so far? How is everyone doing?

I'm so excited to start my new life and re-claim my health!
