Sugary Drinks

My desire for a drink made with real sugar is great. Something delicious, like an icy cold Mexican coke. I want it like a junkie wants ... whatever it is a junkie wants.

Really NO drink has made me happy since the surgery. Occasionally, I get a glass of unsweetened iced tea (with Splenda) that hits the spot momentarily, but after a few drinks, I hate it, too.

Sigh. A real Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb. Lemonade with sugar. Heck, even Kool-Aid would be good.

But I won't give in. I won't.

How do you feel about chocolate milk? When I have a sweet craving, I pick up a bottle of 100 Calorie Nesquik Chocolate Milk from the local convenience store. Ice cold, sweet and creamy...8 grams of Protein. It completely satisfies my craving and with the low-ish calories and good protein count, I don't feel guilty.

That might do the trick. I wonder if I can bribe my son to go to the corner store to see if they have them. I'll let you know, thanks!

Good for you! Your post is too funny, even though I know how bad you want the sugar! You can do it!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
