Clothing while losing

Recommended Posts

I used to think Goodwill was a crazy thought, but when you have nothing to wear and know you're going to go through clothes quick, it really is a viable option. If you take your time and go through everything you may even find clothes with the original tags still on them. I've found this several times.

Also, if you go to places like the Nordstrom Rack you will find some really cute stylish clothes for really cheap. Especially on the clearance racks!!

Here's something else I don't think many give credit to... Get a belt! It will get you through an additional size or two. ;o) I bought one for when my 14's and 16's get too big. I only have a few pairs of anything smaller and really, I'm going to wear these clothes out most likely until I hit size 8 or smaller. Anyhow, I've already started needing it. I bought a good quality genuine leather belt and it doesn't look chintzy or anything.

Happy shopping!!

I wear a belt every day! Work uniform. I know it helps, but will only take you so far. I was getting so embarrassed by my saggy pants at work I finally demanded two pair and they felt SOOO much better when I put then on.

I will probably breakdown and go to Goodwill at some point, I hate shopping period!

Another idea is the add on buttons that you can use to make pants bigger....just use them to go smaller. That works for a drop of several sizes. I got a package of nine buttons for $10.

I watched the sales. Kohls often has amazing sales, and if you are on their email list, you usually get coupons for as much as an additional 15% off of the sales price. I got a pair of jeans two weeks ago that were originally $36.00 for just $9.00. I felt pretty good about that.

Don't forget, we also having a clothing exchange forum here on VST as well.

I love Kohls :)

Kohl's clearance racks!!!!! Also, I live really close to an outlet mall, so I invested in a pair of Levi's. I have had to replace them since, but at the outlet store, plus watching for when they have sales. Not too bad.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
