Stopped Losing:(

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on August 2nd and am down 32 pounds, but haven't lost an ounce in two weeks. Is this normal? I am really getting depressed and have serious buyers remorse. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Diann

hey dianne

just a question are you exercising? i read that alot of people who have been sleeved don't seem to be big on the exercising. not everyone but quite few people said they don't exercise at all. if you don't maybe add some type of workout to your day and you should get a better result. now if you already workout then maybe you are just having a stall which i've read is very normal. good luck with you journey and God Bless

You are most likely just in a stall. They are sooooooooooooo frustrating, but while it doesn't seem so now, this is just temporary. Some stalls are 2 weeks and some more like 4. Just continue to follow your plan and one day, whooosh - the pounds will start coming off again. To get you through the stall, try taking your measurements & compare them to pre-surgery. I bet you'll see some amazing results.

I'm sure it's just a stall. The only thing that will fix it is a whole lot of patience. Just keep sticking to your routine and it will pick up again.

Be good to yourself! You have gone through a lot, and deserve a pat on the back - especially from you!

I am exercising. I walk my darling dog two miles a day and start a yoga class next week. I have also been working out with hand weights (because my upper arms are just plain frightening) and have been doing sit ups and crunches (because my stomach is even scarier).

Mini, how often do stalls happen? It is crazy frustrating because I really don't think I could eat any less than I am. Might I be eating too many calories or fat? The only thing that I can think of that I eat that might be high is a handfull of sunflower seeds or cashews.

Thoughts?

Thanks for your replies!

Hi Diann, well i am 9+ months out and just got done doing a 3 1/2 MONTH stall. . . what do you think of that one! At least your not gaining, think of that as a blessing. . . your body needs to catch up with your brain. . . on the carbs side that could be a factor, I only get in 15 - 25 carbs a day. . . yup i follow Adkins diet. . . yup i diet. . . with the sleeve. . . its just a tool anyhow, its not going to make you loose your weight without you helping out. . . like a hammer, it's not going to get up and start banging on the nail without your guidance. . . so check out how many carbs your getting could be way to many making you stall out. . . good luck!

Oh my three and a half months!! That would be sooooooooooo frustrating. I will definately start looking at my carbs, but I really mostly eat meat, cheese and eggs plus two Protein Shakes a day. To mix it up, I throw in some nuts and/or raisin bran. Will take a look to see what the carb count is in those. Thanks for the advice. Good to know I am not alone in stall land! You all have made me feel so much better!

Hello...

just a thought... you said that you couldn't eat any less... perhaps you are not taking in enough calories???? Like I said just a thought?

What about Water... are you drinking enough fluids? Taking measurements is an excellent idea... when I went through my first stall I lost around 5 inches... weird but true!

I am sure it will pass really soon... well done on your weight loss so far!

Coops,

I am sure that I am not getting enough Water in. I am having a really hard time with liquids. I am just so full all of the time that I can't drink enough. Any advice?

I will for sure start taking measurments.

Thanks!!

Dianng,

just sip through the day, that is what I did for the first month or two... I can now drink normally and have been doing so for about a month or so... I use a Water bottle to help track how much I drink... like I said, just sip, sip, sip through the day and between meals.

How many meals are you eating a day? I am on three a day with no Snacks and I think that helps me to be able to drink more. There are some on her that are eating 4-6 times a day and I can imagine that, that would be harder to drink more!

Keep your chin up 'cos these stall, as frustrating as they are, are part of the process and will go away! My weight loss is far from consisitent but it is coming off and I am sure you will be the same too =]

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
