insurance and wls

Hi All, Lately one of the lapband commercials that plays frequently her in S. Ca implies that after Obamcare comes into full effect that WLS will no longer be covered is this true???? I know Kaiser has been ramping up on their surgeries to the point of months of back log is this because of that? I have a friend who went through the options program she has a year to make up her mind but if it is on its way out.....

I don't know of anything in the legislature that limits WLS. I think it might be a scare tactic. Plus, with the upcoming election, who knows what the law will look like in 2014 (when most of the mandates take effect).

Thanks for the reassurance I was leaning towards it being a scare tactic.

When they tell you that, ask them how many people who had a band put in 5 years ago still have a band? Most refuse to answer or don't recall actual numbers. Odd isn't it?

Carrie, It certainly did not take me much researching to rule the band out I had never heard of the sleeve before I started looking into the band so glad I did.

I'm SO glad I found this site because I had originally had my mind set on the Lapband! But a few days of reading the posts on this site...I knew the sleeve was for me! :thumbup1:

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
