I'm back from my pre-op

I don't know where to begin... OK my appointment was scheduled for 11am, and we were checked in by 10am (we left home early in case there was traffic), and were in by 10:15am (they said they loved when patients arrive early). And it was a good thing, because Dr. Zane got an emergency call for surgery on a lap band case, but was still able to see me, since I was so early...As he was going over my medical notes he thanked me for losing weight and then said he rarely gets to say that:redface1: to any of his patients, OK I almost cried:crying: it made making the right eating choices lately worth it all. I told him I kept hearing his voice say don't gain and try to lose LOL!

I had some blood work done along with another EKG and gave a urine sample. Most importantly I found out that I start the all liquid diet next Wednesday August 26th 2 days before my surgery, and that I would remain on a liquid diet until September 9th when I go for my post-op appointment YIKES :scared0: LOL!

I'm excited and nervous and happy at the same time:thumbup:

How exciting. I'm totally jealous about your pre-op diet - I had 2 weeks.

I just took a look at your stats. We were very close at the start. I am 5'6" and surgery at 203. You are going to have an amazing journey!!!

I'm excited for you!

I started my pre-op diet today. It's for 2 weeks. I have 3 protein shakes a day, 1 fruit and and 1 salad. I also can have 1/4 cup of walnuts or almonds instead of flaxseed oil. You know I chose the nuts. I was so concerned about losing weight before my pe-op visit to the doctor that I was doing 2 shakes and one meal a day. I lost 19 lbs. and he was pleased. So far today is fine and I haven't been hungry. I don't know how the weekend will be. We have the grandkids on the weekend and usually take them out to eat. If we do I'll eat my daily salad then I guess...Carole
