Yay!!! Finally got orientation out of the way!!! Now I have to wait clear til Aug 24th for surgeon appointment!!! Got lots to work on tho!!! :) everybody pray these days go by fast and I do great on the 1200 calorie diet!!!! ;)

Hey Chef,

Are you still on Clear liquids? Are you able to drink your Protein shake at all? I hope the dizziness goes away quickly. I had a little in the hospital, but not since I've been home.

Hi-

That test was horrid!

I could barely stand, and to think about drinking...

Thankful they laid the table back- I was near fainting...

as for SSF. staff- I was never treated better, even on a vacation...

the nurses were great, the Dr. was awesome! I had a followup with Dr. Le.

he was great in answering questions.

now to get over the hump... I get very dizzy when I stand up, nearly fainted this morning...

I am drinking, I also added protein Water in this morn to see if that helps...

Lee, I know what you mean! It's really mean, however, to make us drink that horrible drink as the first taste of liquid in 24 hours though...lol

Wow on the leak test while still open. That's awesome! I had the drink test the next day but I was waiting anxiously for it. I wasn't allowed an ice chip until that test was over. I've never had a drier 24 hours in my life! My mouth felt like I'd been licking the sandy dessert.

It's exciting to read how great everyone is doing!!

Sunshine, that's awesome! You'll do fine! You are on your way :)

Dargar-

I was advanced to stage III

todays Breakfast was Protein shake, lunch was yogurt and 1 slice of cheese/1 slice turkey and 3 crackers. dinner was 1/3 of a turkey patty, 1/4 baked potato and 4 green beans-

dinner was too much-

I also went and walked 2 miles today, and have bypassed my Water levels-

Congrats on the great day Neil!

Heather, how are you feeling?

Sunshine, you're on the best journey of your life. You're going to do great!

I'm feeling pretty good, I'm done with antibiotics and have a new inhaler which seems to have helped things. I feel pretty good for surgery in less than 3 weeks.

I'm starting my 14 week class at Kaiser Santa Rosa tonight, anyone else going to be there? :)

Good for you Chef.... I'm on stage 2 and have my appt next Tues. Hoping and looking forward to being advanced to Stage 3. Guess I will be drinking a protein shake for the 4th of July

YIKES! I tried to eat leftover last nights dinner-

3 bites and I was ready to burst then spent next hour with dry heaves...

finally it came up...

i'm stepping back down to the softs... 1 cup of apple sauce I'm good to go...

why bother...

No sorry- they won't let me back tongue.gif

have fun!

say Hi to Tim, for me, if he is your facilitator.

I'm going to water aerobics...

Yeah, I've pushed it a few times too and paid the price, although luckily I haven't gotten sick to the point of vomiting yet. I'm still getting used to phase 3, and need to keep reminding myself how big my tummy is now. Or rather, how little it is now.

At all the Kaiser classes they keep using the plastic egg ad a visual, I really wish they'd use the boughie instead. Give us something to reference here people!

Left overs are still a problem at 17 months out. I sometimes reheat things in the microwave and it just dries it out, even for just a few seconds. If I cook a steak or something, I try to leave part of it just semi cooked so that I can reheat in a little butter on the stovetop, just enough to take the chill off it.

It's a beautiful thing now at 17 months to be able to eat a decent size green salad with a little protein on it. Fruit is also my friend now and I don't gain as quickly if I eat a piece of fruit per day.

Heather, I'm glad you're feeling better! I get it about the egg visual. I have always weighed my food on the scale as I don't like squishing it into a measuring cup. I've always been able to eat more shrimp, salmon, tilapia etc than chicken/pork/red meat. I can now eat a really respectable serving of salmon with a few spears of asparagus or salad on the side.

Life isn't always in 2 ounce servings once you get further out. :)
