fluids, protein? all day plane trip home

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My surgery is scheduled with Dr. Aceves on Jun 15 and I fly home to Philly on June 18. I could not get a non stop flight returning. I won't get back until 10:30 pm. Besides Decaf tea and Water, what should I drink? Should I take some Protein powder to mix with Water, and if so what kind? My first flight is 1.25 hours with only a 1 hour lay over and the second flight is 4.5. I am sort of dreading this trip home and I hope I feel K.

weird, I'm the same day 6/15 with Dr Alvarez then heading back to Philly on the 18th.

I'm not sure if you will run into problems trying to bring Protein powder on the plane.

There was a great post not too long about for suggestions about flying.

there shouldn't be any problem taking Protein powder on the plane. you can always go to GNC or Whole Foods and get the travel packets, or 'sample' packet sized to take! i thought about getting ramen Soup or something to 'strain' so i'd have broth, i've had the same thoughts about flying home.

I bought some IDS Protein Drink that comes in a 3.4 oz vial which should be TSA friendly. It has 42 g of Protein. It doesn't get great reviews for taste, too sweet, but I thought I could dilute it in Water and sip it. I will take some crystal light packets and some dry broth to mix with hot water. That should get me through the10 hour trip. I just wish I could have gotten a non-stop flight

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
