I read people taking a pouch test and I'm not sure what this is. Is this something the Dr. does, is it a self test, why is it done, when is it done?:svengo:

I think that you are talking about a leak test. It's like a mini barium swallow x-ray, but they use a different contrast (gaffian or something like that). Dr. did mine during surgery so I didn't know that I had one till later. I kept expecting one after surgery, then they told me he had already done it.

No a pouch test is different from a leak test. I heard about this in some youtube videos. It's something that people will do when they are farther out from surgery in an attempt to shrink their pouch back up and get back on track with their eating. It is usually a 5 day test and from what I understand it is like compacting the post-surgery eating phases into 5 days so something like Clear Liquids for a day, full liquids for 2 days, soft/pureed for a day and mushy for a day.

I have no idea if this actually accomplishes anything... but this is what I've heard.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
