Well Got my Consultations appointment set for July.I still have a long road ahead.

Recommended Posts

Well I got a consult with the doctor for July 20th.I will have to have the 6 months of documented weight loss, dietician etc, but Im gonna try like hell to lose as much as I can by then and maybe I will end up changing my mind, but if I dont.I believe this is gonna change my life for the better either way..These next 6 months will be a test for me.I see this as the start of my journey.I have finally made up my mind to do something about my weight.I have been thin before so I do know what it is like, but I was so much younger and I didnt think before I LET MYSELF GET SO OVERWEIGHT.Didnt realize how hard it would be, didnt think before I drank all that coke, and ate all those burgers, and all that junk for all these years.Didnt think being this overweight could happen to me, but here I am.Im 33 years old and I am gonna start living my life the way I should have been the last 10 years..Probably will be visiting here often.Hope all your journeys are good ones.:biggrin2:

Many congrats on getting your consult scheduled. I was a pro-dieter, I could lose fabulously, but keeping it off was my issue. The sleeve definitely changed the way I think about food, and it makes decision making a lot easier.

I would start doing little things to change habits. I did this when I was waiting on my band surgery. Stop bringing a beverage to the table with you when you eat your meals. Sit your utensil down in between bites, and stretch your meal out over at least 20 minutes. Try to eat until you just satisfied not stuffed (this was the hardest habit for me to break), I loved that "ohhh that was so yummy" now I need a nap meals. Try waiting 10-15 minutes after your meals to drink anything since you'll need to wait 30-45minutes once you get the sleeve. Just some ideas on how to prepare for the big changes that come post-op.

I'm 33 as well, and feel like wasted all of my 20's being fat. The best part so far is I feel like I'm making up for the lost years, and finally enjoying life.

Best wishes and keep us posted.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
