Detailed menu of what you eat....

Recommended Posts

For those who are a couple of week out and those who have already met goal weight, please tell me what you eat. Like Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. Are you really that hungry? Do you ever have something special? How do you eat to maintain?

I have lost many times and every time it come back, plus 5-10 # more. I know how to lose, however, if I have one slip up, that it....I eat, eat, eat. My fear is not being able to maintain my weight once I achieve my goal. Did you have fears of that before VSG?

My daily menu is pretty varied because I'm below goal and trying to maintain.

I hate most breakfast food so I don't typically eat until 9-10am.

I eat deli meat with cheese or I'll have some leftovers. Like we had rotissere chicken a couple nights ago, yesterday I made a simple chicken salad out of the leftover breast meat and that was breakfast.

I don't typically snack. If I do snack, I try to make it a decent snack. I haven't ever been a big sweets eater. I prefer salty crunchy. I enjoy Garden Salsa multi-grain Sun chips. I'll have 6-8 Sun chips and be completely satisfied.

For lunch, I eat out 1-3 times a week.

I had Beef Pad Thai this week for lunch 3 days this week. I eat just about anything and everything. I had blackened chicken alfredo with penne Pasta this week as well for lunch on Tuesday. I had about 1/3 of the chicken breast, and several bites of the Pasta.

I love tuna and chicken salad on crackers.

dinner is whatever I make for the family. Includes at least 3-4oz of Protein (chicken or venison), a few bites of green Beans, or a small salad, and I eat potatoes a few times a week with dinner.

I buy a lot of the Green Giant Steamer bags of veggies. We use those quite a bit during the week for dinner.

I'm trying to learn to maintain. My nutritionist told me I have to increase my healthy carb and fat counts. I'm getting in around 900 calories with 50 grams of carbs, 60-70 grams of Protein. I've been hoovering between 145-147 this last week after upping my calories. I am really happy at 145-148 (150 was my goal), and want to maintain. I need to find the right balance for me.

I do occasionally treat myself with Snickers miniatures. I am never hungry. I typically eat because I know I have to eat not because I'm actually hungry. I pretty much knew once I got to goal that I would be able to maintain. The sleeve really taught me a lot about food. My relationship with food has completely change. I can eat one Snickers miniature and be satisfied. I just don't want another one. It's weird because I used to be able to eat 5-10 of those little boogars, but now it's just a mind over matter thing. I don't think about food the same way. I eat to live instead of living to eat. It's pretty liberating.

Of course, any of the WLS can be cheated, or you can sabotage your success. But, I honestly have changed my entire mentality with food and that's why I think it's easier for me to not fall back into old habits. I may struggle with it in the future, but making new habits means stumbling a few times. I am almost 8 months out, and really enjoying a normal life.

I'm gonna be perfecly honest here...

Failure was NOT an option....

I know that sounds stoopid......... but when I had my surgery I wasn't a member of any site regarding this surgery.

So in a way...... I think that was a good thing. I didn't compare myself to anyone....... I just KNEW I had to lose.

I lost 100 pounds in 4 months.......... but I am one of the "heavy weights"..... I have lost a total of 164 pounds and still have 30 to lose but am not sweating it...

I can't eat breakfast- I still get sick if I eat "food" early. so I have a Protein drink for breakfast.

I'm struggling myself here lately because I'm not hungry and don;'t want to eat. But You have to eat in order to lose......... and I am failing in that department. I do drink at least 80 oz of Water every day. I will have Soup or tuna for lunch and dinner because I like them and it ez for me since its just me to cook for.

But like I said....... I may eat lunch. and skip dinner...... not good............I just don't want to eat

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
