I was wondering about a question that several of you had post surgery about not urinating, urgency, loss of pressure since your surgery. Can I ask if you still feel that way. DownInSoCal was in a study I believe and wanted to know if this resolved?

Thanks again

It's been resolved for me for a couple of months. I talked to my surgeon about it, and believes that it is related to less intake, and the body holding on to everything we put in during the recovery period.

I wake up needing to urinate, and having that sense of urgency again. I'm also getting in more Fluid, and food.

I have been totally fine with regards to urination. Within a few hours of the nurse removing my catheter the day after surgery, I had to urinate. Since then, I have not had any problems with regards to urgency, (non)frequency, pressure . . . nothing. I drink; I urinate like I have before.

My two cents.

I urinate normally too. ofcourse less than before cuz I am struggling to get in my Water. but if you don't, it can be a sign of inadequate water intake so drink more.

I am afraid to get a gall stone so much.

I am better since surgery. Do not know if it is becase of the weight loss or because my stomach is so much smaller and not pressuring my bladder? I do not have to wear a pad any more. No drips/leaks anymore. I pee normal. The surgery helped me in that reguard. I did not expect that little bonus!

I noticed that I am urinating better since surgery- before I would have to pee, but was harder to come out, now I have a stronger stream ( didn't know how to put that ) and I don't leak, much more in "control"!!

Not sure what the reasoning is, might try to remember to ask my doc tomorrow!

Thanks, didn't know if it was a neurological issue or what, but was worried. I'm glad it has been a bonus for some to have the surgery.

arolyn,

I feel exactly the same way! I never could go more than 2 hours during the day without running to the bathroom, now it is at least 4 hours, and it's true, no more leaking!

Halleluia! A great bonus for me!

I got an email I was being paged.

I have lost the "urgency" to go but I think it is just plain less fat putting pressure on my bladder. Leaking is almost resolved. My stream is also more forceful, not just a trickle. I don't go as often either. I could not be happier. I was going like every hour at my heaviest.

As far as the study goes my doctor has gone MIA so I don't know. My first test is supposed to be on November 30th. We will see what happens.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
