So it was nice to be able to find my size on the clearance racks in any store! And shoes! I'm sooo excited about the shoes I am now able to wear! I use to wear shorter heels bcuz of my weight and I cudnt walk in them, now I've been buying up every 4/5in stiletto heel shoe I can find !!! Pumps and boots are all over my room now! I travel about once a month for work' date=' I manage a call center and was temporarily assigned a second one in another city.

I asked for a seat belt extender on this trip, got to my seat, and found out I didn't need it! :D[/quote']

This if something I'm sooo looking forward to!! Good for you!! The person your asked was probably confused about why you wanted it lol.

I love reading these nsv's!!

So I guess this is a SV and not a NSV, but I made it through the holidays and lost weight! To be honest, I'm shocked because we were in Switzerland and everyone kept feeding us cheese fondue and potatoes! Not to mention lots of sugary goodies....I remember the days before my sleeve and the holidays meant at least a 5 lb gain.....life is good and I love my sleeve!

Just wrote my LAST post on my blog A YEAR IN THE LIFE OF A SLEEVER. I posted 24 photos....12 BEFORE and 12 AFTER....all my after photos are the best NSV's ever.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

My first reported NSV....

I put on new tights this morning... and I got them all the way up! I don't have droopy tights crotch because I couldn't get the legs all the way up over my thighs. Epic! (Shocking revelation: Having tights that fit practically eliminates chub rub!)

Today, for the first time in YEARS, I sat on the end of my bed, raised my knee to my chest, put my foot also on the end of the bed and cut my own toenails!!! Such a simple little thing but it was really cool. I love my sleeve!

I was sleeved on 12/12/12 and so far I no longer have to take my bp meds and I had to go buy a pair of new pants because my jeans were falling off me. I bought a pair 3 sizes smaller!!!

My knees continue to get better. I can walk up the stairs without holding on and without pain usually, sometimes I can almost run up the stairs. I can go down the stairs better too but it still hurt a little and I think some of that maybe be more psychological that actual. I don't feel the need to hang on for dear life, but I still hold onto the rail.

My weight continues to go down but slower. I discovered the other day that I can squat a little. And I can do kicks when I dance again. I had forgotten that I used to do that. I am going to try to commit myself to going to sleep a little earlier. Ten o'clock and then waking up at 6 am to do Jorge Cruise's 8 minutes in the morning program. It requires no equipment and can be done anywhere. I bought the book years ago and haven't followed through but I think I might be ready now. I have to be at work at 7 but I work from my home. Right now I get up about 6:40 am but if I get up at 6 I will be able to get a good 40 minutes of exercise. I could even do the 8 minute routine and then do 32 minutes of cardio by walking around the apartments. I haven't started yet but at least I have a plan. The hard part is getting up 40 minutes (or even 8 minutes early). I would just get up at 6:30 but there is a learning curve in doing each exercise, you have to read and look at the pictures and then attempt to do what they say. Maybe I can also find a video somewhere of the moves he suggests in his book.

I went to a superbowl party last night, and my husband politely pointed out to me (after picking me up like a baby) that I was the smallest woman there. After looking around, I realized...he was right. And...he just picked me up and carried me out of the room like I was 12!

I have so many, but I guess my favorite is discovering I DO have a collarbone! Feeling my shoulders when I shower, it is so strange, it is STILL so strange that I feel 'boney'. :) I love that I can shop in the missy dept. Other than the 'big girl', mens or children stores, I can find something to wear in any store I walk into. The 'fat me' still giggles inside when someone calls me skinny, thin or small. Serioiusly, me???!!!! LOL I love it that my husband can pick me up and when we cuddle, he has said I'm so little sometimes he thinks I'm fragile. Nope, still the old me, just in a smaller package.

I can't imagine ever going back to that life and I can't imagine the head games we play ever going away. They do keep me on my toes though, so it's not bad!!!

I love this thread!

I am down 83 pounds as of June 20, 2012. My husband had the surgery also that same June. He is down about 120 pounds. We both look and feel great.

Today, we went snowboarding with our kids. This was an impossibility last year at this same time. I was so happy that we gave our kids an experience that was so removed from food. (Also, I was able to fit in kids' sizes of snow clothes= cheaper!) So happy!

(But man, oh, man, I am going to be pretty sore tomorrow!)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
