Dr. Aceves - August 15th

Recommended Posts

My husband and I leave tomorrow morning to fly to San Diego and then ride with Ernesto to Mexicali. I am so nervous/excited. I am ready to get this finished so I can DESTROY some of the strongholds that I let food have on me. This pre-op diet of very few carbs has forced me to address a couple of issues already. I have 3 kids so we keep a variety of snack food in the house (most of which is carb rich). Man, I can't count the number of times I just walked into the kitchen through habbit or boredom and opened the cabinets or checked the refridgerator.

My pre-op testing is tomorrow and surgeryon Saturday!

This is the begining of the best of my life...

I'm home. It was wonderful to sleep in my own bed again.

The surgery was successful and my recovery is going great! The only downside I am working on right now is the mental "fogginess". I know that it is because I am not up to proper levels of Protein intake but it's still irritating.

Dr. Aceves was wonderful. Dr. Campos rocked. Actually ALL of the staff was incredible. Every single individual there was amazing. They were attentive and compassionate and informative. I only wish that I knew spanish.

All I can say is this is completely different. You could have told be all day long that I would only be able to consume 2 ounces at a time and it still would have been hard to wrap my brain around.

My husband was amazing. I am so glad that he went with me. We made several friends while we were there. But know that it has been a long journey between day 2 and today. Day 2 stunk. It is the worst I have felt in a long time if ever. But amazingly day 3 was dramatically better and yesterday was even better (except the long flights).

Did I mention that I was glad to be back home?!?:lol0:

Glad you are recovering and back letting us know how you are doing. I agree. I loved everything about Dr. Aceves and staff. I am excited to go back in Oct. to see them all again.

Now the fun starts, when you see the pounds falling off on the scale!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
