How long did you wait ?

Recommended Posts

Was banded September 6th and all I want to do is go to the gym! I'm down 15 lbs but I can't imagine what I would be down if I went to the gym. Right now I walk lightly but I want to run and do squats. My surgeon says he would wait 6 weeks but only I know my body. Thoughts ?

I think if my doc said wait 6 weeks, I'd wait 6 weeks....

Walking during the mean time will certainly help. Why take a chace on injuring youself by trying to progress too soon? Just my suggestion.

I was cleared to exercise after only two weeks...but you don't want to push it and hurt yourself so it's best to listen to your surgeon!

Did he say you could walk? I was allowed to walk before getting the official clearance for the gym and full workouts.

I was cleared at 2 weeks with the instructions for no weight training or ab work for 6 weeks and to start slow. I'd listen to your surgeon tho, walking can really help. I started walking one week post op 2 miles every night and dropped 19lbs in my 2 week postop period.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
