Um.. I can feel my lap-band

Recommended Posts

I think I can feel my lap band through my abdoment ... It is NOT the port I am feeling. It's something hard under the fat tissue right under the top incision after the op. I matches the position of the stomach ... is this normal? It doesnt hurt or anything. My doctor is out of the country for few days so I can't really ask him.

Your band is on the very top of your stomach. You shouldn't be able to feel it from outside at all because it's in the vicinity of your lower chest, between your breasts and behind your breastbone. So, exactly where is that top incision? Incisions from any kind of surgery create scar tissue and I suspect that's what you're feeling.

Yeah I guess it must be scar tissue. Top incision is about 8 cm on top of the navel and the the bump inside feels pretty hard and big. I just had a look at

It might also be the tubing. I am not sure, but I think I can feel where mine comes out and goes to the port.

I can't feel my band but I can feel my port from time to time. I have heard from doctors that it is normal. The more weight you lose the more you will be able to feel it.

Could be internal sutures as well as scar tissue. I know for the first few weeks I could feel the band (internally, not with my hands) when I took a deep breath. I asked the surgeon how close to the diaphragm it was and he said about 5 cm, once the swelling went down I could no longer feel it. I was concerned that I would always feel it in my chest. I was fascinated by my port once I had the nerve to feel for it a couple days out from surgery.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
