1st visit to doc, down 17.6 pounds total

Recommended Posts

Woo hoo!!! I just got back from my post-op visit and I am down a total of 17.6 lbs.:banana I had lost only 5 lbs. pre-op:( 12.6 pounds seems like a lot to lose in a week, it makes me wonder if some of this will creep back on when I can eat solids again. Any thoughts?

All Right! Good for you! From what I've read, yes, there is a good chance of some of it sneaking back between "when the healing stops and the first fill", so don't be too bummed out! But that's not a definate, either!! Meanwhile, you must feel great seeing the numbers drop like that! Awesome!

Congratulations, Kathy! That is a lot to drop in a week, you're right, and when your body notices I guarantee the rapid loss will stop. You might even gain back a pound or two, but it's all relative. This is a time that you shouldn't be worrying about weight or calories, and trying not to agonize over every ounce.

Weight loss during this time is a wonderful bonus! When your hunger returns, and it will, don't starve yourself. What you want to avoid, as you start with solid foods, is getting too hungry which might lead to eating too fast.

Take it easy, and be good to yourself! :):D :D

It is a lot of weight too lose in such a short period of time. Probably a lot of it due to Water. You may experience some weight gain. (Maybe as much as 10 pounds or as little as 1) Your body sometimes goes into starvation mode after a dramatic loss and will plateau. Don't get discouraged, even if you do gain back, it will come off in due time. I know, if you're like me once you start losing you get energized to check the scale often. Once you go to solids and before your first fill. Stay off the scales more often. Just concentrate on chewing thoroughly and drinking your 64 oz

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
