I had lost 30lbs in total in 3 weeks then i started gaining weight. Im getting my first fill today after a month and a half of surgery! Im trying to go back in just drinking liquids but its hard now for some reason. I know the doctor wont be happy with how much ive gained :( i feel so discouraged

How much HAVE you gained? I know it can't the the 30 you lost! If you haven't gotten your first fill, I think you've done phenomenally well... You practically lost all that by yourself. You'll start losing again. Don't worry.

That is not a bad gain, you could gain that just b/c it's that time of the month. Don't stress over it sometimes after surgery there is a bit of a gain as the body heals.

Your doing great!

I was banded on 8/22 and lost 8 lbs. the first two weeks. This week I gained a pound back and am feeling hungry and like I can eat anything. I am hoping my first fill on the 17th gives me the restriction that will aid in me losing weight. Right now I feel like I did before the surgery. Struggling to not over eat and a bit depressed to not be losing some weight each week.

Track your calories Liz....that's the secret. This way, you know exactly what's going in rather than guessing. Good luck!

Four pounds isn't bad. Hopefully now that you have the fill you will be back on track. Stay focused on the plan and good luck.

This is a difficult time for everyone, but you CAN be successful. Do what was suggested above, and remember to focus on healing. This too shall pass

I think of this as a marathon. Not a sprint. Have Long term faith and keep on eating well and doing what you can to move your body. Best of luck!

Remember that Water weighs 8 lbs. per gallon. Depending on where you are in a hydration cycle, you can fluctuate 4 lbs per day quite easily, especially if you are drinking 64 oz. of water each day.

I was at about 25 down @ 3 Weeks then gained 3 to 4. And stayed the same for 3 more Weeks. Eventually I got fills and it kicked into high gear, i'm down 45 pounds in less than 5 months. Its actually easier now. Just stick with it. Do your best. Try to drink Water. Dont eat totally crazy or terrible foods. Just do your best, keep up with fills and it will come. Trust me I had some bad days because I was so upset when the scale didn't move, but I stuck with it the best i.could and it eventually happened. Good luck, you actually sound just right about normal..

Also I never lose, sometimes even gain a pound or two during that time if the month, then have a good drop the following week. So look at your progress over time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
