Huge bill with United Health (True Results Hernia Repair)

Recommended Posts

I was banded 3 months ago with TR. I have United Health Care and it doesn't cover any Bariatric Surgery. True Results told me that if I need a hernia repair I just need to pay $5500, +$1500 copay to the surgery center and $400 for the EGD to see if I had a hernia. I paid all of this cash. So 2 weeks ago I got a bill of $2000 for anesthesia and a letter from my insurance saying I owed $25000!!!!!! I talked to TR and they transferred me to the surgery center billing department (external to them!) and they told me to scan the bills and send it to them so they will help me. That was 2 weeks ago, and I don't have a response. I don't know what to do, I'm buying a house and I'm so afraid to have a huge debt now :( anyone with the same situation?

OMG I am so very sorry. I too have United Health Care, however I'm on a government widows VA survivors benefits and they covered all but 40.00 of my procedure. Did you get anything in writhing prior to your surgery?? That's where I would start. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
