Supervised Diet

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Just venting. I finally chose my surgeon after consulting with a few different choices. I am confused because they told me that my insurance requires a 6 month supervised diet while the other 2 offices I visited both said it is only a 3 month diet. (I have GHI) Now I am going to have to call my insurance company to find out which it is. I am hoping for 3 months but if 6 is necessary I will do what I need to do.

Did anybody else have a similar experience?

6 months is quite common. I have blue shield of CA and just finished my 6th month plan. It went faster than I thought it would but now I'm getting very anxious!!!!

I was going to say the same exact thing as Laura said LOL. It really did go fast....and I am an impatient person.

I have GHI as well and it was a 6 month supervised diet (it would have been 3 months if I was able to use a bariatric center for the monitoring which mine didnt have available)

Hope you figured it all out...the insurance requirements are a bit much but we must follow them....ugh!

My surgery date is set for 9/19...will be starting preop diet 9/4...if you ever want to chat message me!

If you go to one of these bariatric centers of excellence they will be able to tell you how long the supervision will be. Perhaps at one of the seminars they give. Since you seem to be from LI call North Shore. NYU is a center of excellence as well

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
