Recommended Posts

I've started my process this July with dr visit weigh ins and got my upper gi done went to my nutrition appointment tomorrow I have my psychiatric appointment and my sleep apnea study ..just wondering if I do get diagnose with sleep apena does it make my process longer? I've done 2 months out of 6 with my pcp I started at a bmi of 39 and I'm 4'9 and weigh 183 pounds concerned that if I lose weigh and my bmi slightly goes down that tricare won't approve :/ (bitting my nails) very anxious and excited at same time.

Hi! I am new to this group. I joined today:-) I also have tricare and I was approved. I have some pointers if you would like them. First, if you go online there is a sample letter of what they are looking for in your answer as to why you should be approved. I used this as a template to help me get started. Next, what state are you in? I live in Nebraska and they have a 6 month program you attend once a month which always gets you approved.

Thank you for your info I'm from Arizona and waiting for other people who have been where I am now ..I guess everyone who has tricare have to vo thru 6 months of weigh ins with their pcp for the insurance to get approved from what I read I've vone to the bariatric office and I guess they need my psychiatric results and sleep apnea results plus the 6 months nutrition weigh ins to be finished before they send my file to get approved from what I have read on here

If this is where you are then yes. They like to have everything in your file before they submit however, if it offers you any consulation. I hear Tricare responds quicker than most. Mine was approved in two days. I logged in online to track it myself and I saw approved. I immediately called the doctors office and they said that was quick. They said Tricare was fast but not that fast. The region I'm in is now handled by United Healthcare so Im not sure if that speeded up the process or not. I live in Nebraska. I pray you get an approval.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
