Any other September 2013 bandsters?

I know it's early, but wondering if there's any one else getting ready to get banded in September? I have one more Ins required weigh in Aug 19 then my paperwork gets submitted for approval!

I was already told I'm on the schedule for September 27! Fingers crossed!

I'm in the same boat! My surgery is 10 days before my 25th but we've had many years of birthday cakes just think of it as the best present ever ! I'm so happy there's so many of us for support

Now we have to find a birthday cake and ice cream flavored Protein shake to Celebrate. Lol. Kidding!!!!

I had to bump my date by a week because I forgot my daughter had a soccer tournament that weekend. So I am now booked for Friday, September 13th (good thing I'm not superstitious!). I have to confess, I nearly changed my mind. I found myself thinking that I will never be able to enjoy myself on vacation again, I will never eat x, y and z again, I'm going to throw up if I make a mistake and eat too much (I have a real vomiting phobia - haven't done it since I was a child) etc. My husband put it all I'm perspective when he said "it's just food". I will still be able to travel and I will still be able to taste new foods when travelling (in small portions). Food doesn't have to be the focus of the vacation. I also thought I might just try losing weight on my own again, but I have never been able to maintain the weight loss. I've been struggling with my weight for close to 15 years and I am so tired of it. I'm sure you can all relate...

So I have my last Ins appt Monday and I'm so scared they are going to say to bad so sad can't have the surgery :( I was suppose to be on a trial pre op diet from the 9th to the appt but I ha e been so bad :( I think it's all mental that I would have to do 10days then 3 wks for the actual surgery and that's just to much. I'm so scared I completely screwed myself :(

Hi, new member of this site. I am tentatively scheduled for 9/20/13 in Las Vegas where I live. I still have my EGD procedure which is scheduled for 8/22/13 and my 2nd sleep study tonight since i was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea. I'm counting down the weeks...I'm so excited to start this journey!

I start my pre op diet on Tuesday hopefully It goes ok. And have sugary on the 3rd. Scared and excited about all of this.

I see a lot of people talking about their stay in te hospital.... Mine is being done out patient, surg at noon and they say I will be headed home by 5. Is anyone else outpatient or am I being booted out too soon?

Mine will also be an out patient procedure. I like the idea of recuperating at home...

I just got my surgery date of Sept 10 today. :)

Who are you having surgery through? I am using True Results in Scottsdale.

Same place.

I know I can't wait. I am a teacher and at least being in school makes the time go by fast. My pre op is three weeks as well. I was going to have surgery before school and did pre op for about three days ...thought I was going to die! Lol seriously I was not prepared because it happened so fast. Had an insurance issue and had to postpone. This worked in my favor, part of the problem being during the summer I don't do much so food COMMERCIALS were killing me. I also was just using Protein shake straight and have since been able to research and find recipes for shakes that are yummy, no boredom eating, and truly teaching keeps me so busy I sometimes forgot to eat last year. So yeah... I am crazy excited. I talked about it all the time and felt my husband getting annoyed so now I just talk about it sometimes but mostly just read the boards. Are you telling people? I am and everyone is so wonderful and supportive. I even told my students (high school) and they were so sweet. They said I was perfect the way I am. Lol all 5 foot 295... nope 288 pounds, I substituted a Protein Shake for my normal McDonald's hash brown and mcmuffin and in a month lost weight! I also walk a lot at work now. My co-teachers room is pretty far and I have to walk back and fourth like 6 times. Lol forced exercise is what my hubby calls it. Lol

FINALLY!! Sept 19th (3 days after my 54th birthday). I started the pre-op for ins back in Oct of last year. Had my last weigh in on Apr 16 and was so excited to have it all done. Took to my surgeons office and was told 2 days later that my insurance did not cover. It was an exclusion to my policy. OMG. My world came crashing down!! But, all is great now. Because of my neighbor, who also had this done, mentioned checking with my other insurance, and I found out this past Wednesday, they are going to cover the surgery.
