Pre-process is moving fast!

Recommended Posts

I just saw the Doctor on July 18th and all I need is EGD, Psychological Eval and few nutritional classes, which are already scheduled!!.. I was already on WW for 6 months and had a sleep study for another medical reason. So I am hoping that this will move along pretty quick! I am a little worried that my insurance company will take their sweet time approving though.. Also, I know I will have the 2 week ALL liquid diet before.. Any tips on how to get through it and not starve?

I am currently awaiting on my insurance to approve after getting all the necessaries done. I was told that my insurance company, Cigna, takes up to a month or more to approve by my doctor.

As for the liquid diet, every doctor is different. If you like Soups, take fresh veggies and cook them and then make Soup out of them. Asparagus makes a great Soup as well as broccoli. All you do is boil it and add it to the blender with some of the liquid you cooked it in. Then add seasonings to taste. Simply, easy, healthy, and liquid.< /p>

Sounds pretty easy!! I will have to try that! As for my insurance--I hope I don't have to wait 30 days for my insurance approval!! I will pull my hair out!!

Have no fears...insurance won't take that long to approve you. Now, excercising patience to surgery day will be a challenge, especially when the pre-process moves quickly. I remember those days, it felt like an eternity!

I have my first appointment next tuesday. I have already had my sleep apnea test and all that but my actual first meeting to start the 90 day pre-op stuff starts then. I am really excited and nervous... Does the 90 days fly by? Any suggestions to make the 90 days as beneficial as I can?

The liquid diet isn't as cumbersome as it sounds. I supplemented my Protein Shakes with tea, coffee, broth and Crystal Light. Also, sugar free hard candy when my mouth tasted funny.

I didn't have a 90 period.. I had done WW previously so not a long wait for me!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
