CWinkler340 great idea! I gave tried to join the group. However; it won't let me. I'm accessing this app from my I Phone. I hope to figure it out soon ; )

Jama I couldn't join from my iPhone either, I had to do it from my laptop :)

Day 5 post op. I have been off pain meds since day 2. I have this slight tugging pain under my left breast' date=' (especially when I take a deep breath). I think, it is associated with the repair of my hiatal hernia. Has anyone else experienced this? I tried calling surgeons office, but their 'out to lunch'. How is everyone sleeping? I have been sleeping on my back & sometimes on my right side. No one has told me any different. I hope, I haven't done any damage. I don't even know where my port is...... I'm feeling full most the time. Anyone from the St. Louis area?[/quote']

I had to sleep on my back too. After about a week I was able to lay on my right side but it took a few more days to be able to lay on my left. I am still putting a pillow under my tummy when I sleep on my side because it helps with that pulling feeling. I believe the port is up and to the left of the band? But I don't quote me on that!

I'm a side sleeper so I had to figure it out. The first night I had to sleep on my right side but by night 3 I was able to lay on my left side too. I had to be gentle when getting into and out of that position but its working. Now I have to deal with this liquid diet. It feels like it will be FOREVER before I make it to mushy foods. All I want is some mashed sweet potatoes or something. That sounds kinda sad huh. A week and a half left till mushies.......and I'm starving!!

I finally got in touch with my doctor's office. They said, I could sleep on either side. I was relieved, because I have been sleeping on my right side.

Yeah it swelled up from me eating popcorn so now I'm on the liquid diet for forty eight hours then soft for the same amount then I will be on regular food as of Friday. Hate hate hate the liquid diet did I mention I hate it!

I'm still only pre op but have already been told once I get banded I can no longer eat popcorn :(

I feel the same way, PoohBear22! I'm hungry too! Just watching my family eat everything has been very hard. I have just had Protein shakes & popsicles. This Thursday, I can have yogurt, oatmeal & fudge pops. Bring it on ; ) Hang in there!

I never knew that. Never? : (

I never knew that. Never? : (

That's what the nutritionalist told me :( I think it completely sucks but that's a small sacrifice for better health :)

You are correct, they told me today, my port is on the left. I'm going to try a pillow tonight. I feel better that, I'm not the only one who has slept on their side.
