I was banded on May 30th and today i went in to see my Dr. During my 2-week pre-op diet I lost 16lbs. Today i am 5 weeks post-op and have lost an additional 20lbs. Since my surgery for a grand total of 36lbs in 7 weeks. Im so pumped!! Given that tomm. Is the 4th I opted to wait to get my first fill at my next appoint. In 2 weeks since you habe to be on liquids for 2 days after. I can honestly say that im so thankful i made the decision to have this done! Its not always easy and ive worked my butt off to make the right choices and well I would say it's payed off. I'm extremely motivated and very thank fir this site because there are some amazing people on here who are very inspiring!! Thx for the support.

Good for you! I am day 3 post up. Miserable. Tired. Headache. Sore. Just came back from doctors and have an infection. He had to squeeze all the bad stuff out. Pain was awful. Now I will start antibiotics. I am surprised I have not thrown up yet from all these liquids. Oh I hope I have done the right thing. It's so clear how much my life totally revolved around food. I don't know if I can last the week without food. How did you all do it especially those that had a pre op diet also.

I put on my "big boy pants" and said I had to do it. I got a lot of support from my OA groups and I have a partner in surgery. She had by pass one month before I had the band so we talk on the phone almost daily and we see each other a OA two times per week. Go to your support groups sponsored by your doctor and do the work they tell you to do. You will be sore for a few weeks, and after it all clears up you will be able to work with the band and the restrictions and not even know you are doing it. Best of luck.

Im sorry youre going through this! The first 5days after surgery was rough for me too. I didnt have an infection but the discomfort of the gas pains were overwhelming which made me not want to eat or drink because the pressure was so uncomfortable but after the 2nd week on liquids i was definitely ready for the next stage. Just take your time stay focused get yourself surrounded by people who support you and you will do great! If i can be of any help or support just let me know! Keep your head up things will get better!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
