Rough Food Challening evening

Recommended Posts

I went to go do my favorite thing with the family and friends this evening. We went to watch the races at the dirt track! I had a blast, but everyone was eating my favorite things, nachos and cheese, French fries with cheese and chili, burritos....... Kept asking me want some, and I of course said yes I do, but No thanks. It was so hard to not touch any of it. I just drank my Water and watched the race. So very challenging. All in all I made it through the evening without giving into my indulgences:) I am proud of myself, but it was so hard!

Great job!!! I had a similar situation this week where I was standing in my work's breakroom heating up my Meal Replacement and my only other companion was 5 pizza boxes and powdered donuts. I had to stand there by myself with no other witness and not touch it. I did it and I was so proud of myself when I got back to my desk but wow was I sad while I was in there lol!!

Wow!! How strong are you!!! I can relate! I am still on my pre-op diet, but I have survived two pizza party lunches (last week of school there are lots of celebrations with food) and endless cakes and cupcakes. I drank my yummy Protein Shake and Water and had no pizza or cake. One of the other teachers said, "I can't believe how strong you were!" That made me feel great! We can do this!

Thank you all for the compliments! It was hard, but yes I feel so good that I was able to just say no thanks! The only other thing that is bothering me is that I am stuck at the same weight loss of 16lbs. Given that I haven't had a fill, is this normal or should I being doing something? I began exercising yesterday, mostly swimming because I am still recovering from a severe ankle break from February.

you are stronger than you know/realize...this proved it...in the dictionary, success shows your picture.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
