Date set for June 27th - anybody scheduled for the same week?

Hi, My surgery date is June 27th. I was told that I will stay in the hospital one night. After I go home I will be alone and my neighbor will come and check on me daily. Are there any fellow candidates who has their surgery on the same week or so?

I started the pre-op diet 3 days ago. I am getting used to the milk shakes in the morning. They are not so bad, but my pre-op diet is not perfect: unfortuntely I go over the 1000 by ~200 Cals but I hope improve it in a couple of days.

I am worried about the pain during the first 2 days after surgery. How much am I going to be incapacitated??

Thanks!

Congratulations, Joy332! I am happy to hear that you are doing fine. They say that when you start walking it may go away. Have a quick recovery!!

Congrats, Joy! Thanks for posting, glad to hear it went well for you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery, hope the gas goes way soon. 48 hrs to go until I am banded- your post gave me lots of encouragement.

hi peoples I got on the table they started with the banding and stopped I was told my stomach was to high to do it and that there was something hard behind my stomach which was unusual so they took samples to find out what it was and I here back from them in 2 weeks to see what direction to go from there even know I felt like I had it done with all the bloating and aches and pains

Hi surgery buddies! We are heading to the 24 hour mark. Nerves are killing me! Will have no sleep tomo night. Have to be at hospital by 6am. I'm hoping I'm first on the list, think I will lose my mind if I have to sit and wait the whole day! How is everyone else feeling??

Good luck, fellow banders! One more day and then our new lives start... My surg is at 1pm, so I get to sleep late (if i CAN sleep, lol).

Klober- hope everything turns out okay for you.

I'm June 26th....Tomorrow!! Just now seeing this thread. Best of luck to everyone throughout the week, keep us all updated on your progress!

Well it is after midnight so today is officially my day! I can't beleive it's finally here!

Good luck!!!

Hi Beanie80,

I am right behind you, going in on 06/27 (tomorrow)! I switched to all liquid today and I am waiting for the call from the hospital...

I am afraid that I have probably no idea what did I bring myself into :(

I have just receive the call from the hospital. I have to be in at 1.30pm and I am scheduled for 3.30pm. It sounds kind of a late appointment... :( The good news is, I can drink clear liquids until 7am. I could have just taken 1/2 day off from work...

Well I am banded. I arrived at 6:00am. We did paperwork and I changed and was on the table for 8:30 and woke up in the recovery at 10:00 and was in my room at 10:30. I feel ok as long as I was laying. Went I got up to walk I was very nausea and would gag. So the nurse gave me nausea medicine. I slept most of the afternoon and was sore when I tried to get out of bed. I stayed at the hospital 1 night my choice so I had good care and had some pain medicine around 7:00. I feel more sore today maybe because of the gas not sure. I am rest in bed and every hour I do my walk around the house. I am taking Tylenol for pain but can still feel it. It is hard to get comfortable on the bed. I am sure it will be better on day 3 and day 4. Good Luck everyone!!

My procedure date is July 2.. Excited and nervous both. I have been on pre op liquid diet 9 days. Cant wait until this part is over. Any words of encouragement welcome... :)

Congrats on your surgery New and Improved! Wishing everyone a speedy recovery. Heather and Mac--everything will go well. Up until they put me under in the OR, I was thinking "what the heck am I doing?????" But, I kept thinking back to all my unsuccessful diets and I knew this was the right decision. Do not be surprised by pain the first day...as it is the gas they pumped in. And take your pain meds regularly...I can tell you that I failed to do this and had some bad pain. But it gets better everyday. Main problem now is I don't feel like drinking the thin, watery shakes or the Isopure. Gag. I got down a quarter of a shake. Other than that, I have had Water, tea, and broth. I am also using a small firm pillow held against my incisions when I move or get out of a chair. It seems to help.

Klober, I am anxious to hear what is up. Please let us know how things are going...otherwise, we will worry! Sending many prayers and good wishes your way.

Thanks, Joy. Hubby + I had good talk today w/surgeon, we are feeling very positive + looking forward to my new life. I've had laparscopic surgery before, am ready for the gas pain, and plan to take pain meds regularly.

Congrats, new + improved!
