Erectile Dysfuntion issues since bandins

Recommended Posts

Has anyone suffered increasing ED issues since banding? My sex drive wasn't great but I'm experiencing ED issues and off to the Doctors next week. Just wanted to know if there is a known link to ED and banding?

You could look up information on the Vagus nerve. I know it starts in the brain and then separates into all different parts of the body one of those parts being the stomach. They say pressure is put on it by the band and effects the appetite and other things. You might want to do some research and see if it effects the erectile function. Just a thought.

Hi there...actually my drive has increased big time since the band along with the large amount of weight loss. I had issues pre-band but they're all gone now. My testosterone is still a bit on the low side of normal but still within range.

I would definitely see what the doctor has to to say. Probably will need to do all sorts of blood work and perhaps send you off to a Specialist. Good news is they have meds now to take care of these things.

I've had the opposite problem, but I'm only 29 and shouldn't have those types of issues. I've also been on testosterone therapy for a few years. Losing 75 lbs from my heaviest has been good for the libido. Hope you get yours figured out.

I'm with Jim in the increased libido department. Probably just from being able to move around easier! However, there are lots of ways weight loss throws off your Vitamin balance so that might be worth looking into as well as the low t.

ED and decreased interest in sex are two different things. If you have the desire but you can't get an erection, then it's probably not Low T. Are you by chance on medication to lower your blood pressure, because if you are loosing weight and taking BP Meds it may be that you need a lower dose of BP medication (as long as your BP stays in a good range). That or you may be Vitamin deficient.

I can't speak to ED, but I do know that in my life my weight loss has taken all of my focus, which in turn has lead to a decreased interest in many things that once where important to me. Sometimes I think my body has dropped into survival mode, and is cutting out everything but the most important things.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
