I am 2 weeks post op and am looking forward to jogging again, but my tummy is still tender. When did any of you start more aggressive exercise?

I was told not to use a treadmill untill at least a month out so I assume jogging would be 6 weeks? Your body will tell you if it's too soon when you attempt it. just don't overdo it and get a green light from the doc first.

Ugh, really? I know my doc said 4 weeks but I thought that was being a little too cautious. I was hoping others started early with no problems.

I was told to take it easy for 6 weeks. No ab exercise and not jog/running. I could walk or do hand weight or work my legs on the total gym, but nothing that would cause excessive "jiggle" for the ab area.

Just think- you do not want anything to "jiggle" lose.

I had a 3 week post op appt yesterday and received paperwork with the 2 week info that said I had no restrictions in regards to exercise. I have done a little jogging with my walks, but when it starts to bother me I stop. The further out I get the less it bothers me.

6 weeks sounds like the going amount of time. My surgeon's office said the same. you can walk tho'. maybe a fast walk will do it for you!

I'm about 2.5 weeks post op and I've been working out since I could get up and move. Last weekend when I was right at 2 weeks I was walking and decided to jog some. No problems at all.

But I'm also one to not follow drs orders and push myself haha. But still no issues.

Everybody is different. For me I started walking the next day. I walk a 1-2 miles real slow couple of days after it. I gave myself 2 weeks b/4 i started to run. I completed a half marathon 1 month after surgery. My longest training run was 6 miles after the procedure. It can be done. I thought the hardest part was not being able to lift any weights for that month.

I agree, I'm ready to get back to the gym doing weights. I feel like I'm ready but ill wait a little longer to finish healing. I haven't been in any pain since the week right after surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
