Protein bar = feel like cr*p

Recommended Posts

I am pre-op and have been changing my diet, eating better, cut out all soda and almost all caffeine. I have been feeling good. Today I ate a Protein Bar for the first time and it has made me feel terrible. Has anyone else had this problem? I feel nauseous and just bad. The fact that I have 3 more Protein Bars in my pantry makes me want to throw up. Anyone else can't tolerate the Protein bars? The drinks don't seem to bother me.

First-good luck with the pre-op. Second, maybe it's the brand of Protein bars. I love them. I eat the Cliff ones that have 20g of protein. They make different ones. My dietitian told me to eat these. I have had the chocolate chip, chocolate mint and chocolate with Peanut Butter. Love them all. If you hate the ones you have, return them. Almost every store takes them back.

Check and see if it has sugar alcohol in it. That can act like a laxative. Also some bars have too much Fiber. I gave up trying yo find a bar and decided eatting food works much better for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
