Reason I'm asking bc mines for whatever reason during pre surgical it sky rocketed more then usual- and I can almost know the exact reason why it did. It was 4am and I woke up to get Water, note I never drink tap Water and I had ran out of bottle water. I took a drink of Gatorade at 4am not remembering my testing was at 7 this morning, well I got a call from my pcp basically freaking out and wondering what happened?! That I never had it that high- so it's mandatory for me to get it down it least to what I had it. So I'm now worried and I feel so stupid bc this is my fault, all of it. I don't know what to do- today is my first day of preop diet, and today I really felt that I wanted that cigarette after I've quit smoking 2 weeks ago, and literally devour my fridge, aye this stinks lol

It's tough love, but veggies and Proteins will bring down ur sugars. And Gatorade will definitely make it spike!!! Sooo much sugar lol. How high was it?

My doctor won't do the surgery if my blood sugar levels are high. I was given insulin and take my regular pills to bring down my sugar, but trust me your sugar will come down with this liquid diet. I had to drink apple juice today at the dietician office since my sugar dropped to low. You should be good to go by surgery.

No I haven't had my surgery yet. This is my second day on my liquid diet and my sugar already dropped real low and I was always in the 200's. I just had my A1c in march and it was 9.2. I'm stopping insulin today and just taking my 2 pills for diabetes. The way things are going looks like I will be off all meds before my surgery. I believe you and me have the same surgery date of May 1st. If your sugars don't come down they might just give you insulin at the hospital before surgery. Are you on a liquid pre op diet?

That is so true about the stress raising sugar levels. I had no idea that could happen, but when I went in for my EGD surgery I checked my sugar at home and it was 184, but when they checked it at the hospital it was 218 and I didn't have anything to eat obviously due to the surgery. My heart was racing and I was having major anxiety Nd the nurse told me that my sugars can just be high due to stress.

That's very interesting to find out- I hope it doesn't chose to sky rocket Saturday at my pcp, that will determine if I can even continue to have this surgery since they were so high at pre surgical testing :/

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
