Soft drinks????

Recommended Posts

My doctor prescribed Topamax for me to help with my Coke addiction. I took it for 2 weeks, never had a caffeine headache and the medication made the soda taste terrible so I stopped drinking it. It worked great for me. Just a thought.

Aversion therapy......brilliant! Wish it would work that easily with Cookies, cake and candy!!!

"Listen" to your band....what does it say when you drink something carbonated....I don't drink soda, but I do drink carbonated drinks...I just take it easy and pay close attention to what the feedback my band gives me....

My doc has absolutely no issues with carbonation

In Australia and in Europe most doctors have no issues with carbonation either

That being said, I have MAJORLY cut down my soda consumption. I have replaced soft drinks with cold Water bottles

This was one of my major concerns with surgery also and I doubted I would ever get over the addiction to it. I still drank soda until I started my 2 week preop diet which wasn't the best idea. I'm almost 6 weeks post op and I don't even think about it anymore.

My doctor told me in addition to the carbonation issue, there were chemicals in diet soda that stimulated hunger. For what it's worth.

Yeah, I have noticed that too. When I drink softdrinks then I get dramatically hungry for more food. I don't know how I can myself stop drinking these drinks. I'm helpless. Whatever body weight I lose by doing exercise it all comes again with a bottle of Pepsi. <_<

My daughter was banded in April after her surgery they gave her ginger ale to sip on...I told her didn't they say we wasn't suppose to have soda? After I got banded they gave me Water to sip on...I don't know if that was because of our age and weight differences (me being bigger than her at the time of surgery) or what...We both don't drink sodas now when I have a taste for flavor I use Crystal lite which isn't often because I prefer water...If your doctor says no soda then go with that...water is better for you anyway

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
