After first being banded, I could take them whole, but after my third fill I now have to cut them up. I can take pills whole if they are as small as a baby aspirin.

Good thing, no longer on b/p medicine :)

I also crushed my pills right after surgery but am now taking them whole. I'm about three months post-op and have not needed any fills yet so that is the likely reason why I don't have to cut or crush my pills at the moment. The nurse at the surgeon's office said I'd be OK as long as the pill is no bigger than an M&M. If/when I start to get fills, I'm sure I'll have to go back to cutting or crushing my meds again.

I used to be able to take a handful of pills(vitamins) at once now I take gummie Vitamins and have to wait a few minutes between each pill to wait for it to go down. Also, I have to take my meds about 20 min. before bed otherwise it will just sit there dissolving above my band. I've had 1 fill so far.

I never have crushed pills and never had a problem taking them. I just make sure to pause a minute or two between pills and never take a pill right out of bed in the morning. If I have to early in the morning, I have some hot tea or Water first to loosen my band.

Btw, check with your pharmacist before crushing or cutting any pills. Some pills are time release and if you cut/crush them you risk an accidental overdose.

Best wishes.

i take my help me sleep when i need it pills in crushed form...i found it works faster....i do take reg tylenol pills and liquid (walgreens or Walmart brand)...so far no problems...i admit if i ever had to take a big pill . id ask the dr if i could half it or break it....but i think it just depends on the person. as i always say, do what your dr advises you and or what works for you.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
