Let me start by saying I was banded on 2.6.13. This is my first week off of Clear Liquids and now on 3 Protein Shakes a day (340 calorie intake per day). I just jumped on the scale out of curiosity and it barely moved from last Wednesday. Is this normal? I am a little disappointed but still trying to stay focused. Could my body be in starvation mode? Has this happened to any of you? I understand that I'm still in the healing part of my journey and shouldn't worry about weight loss but I can't help but be a little bummed.

I lost a pound a day on my pre-op diet (all shakes and liquids). After surgery.....it slowed way down. I had scale shock as well. The point is.....it is still going down. Our body is healing.....and yes, living off very little calories. Once I phased into Full liquids (where I could have a little yogurt and runny oatmeal...creamy soups) it started to move a little again. But just a little.

We have to remember...this is a marathon...not a race. Our bodies are in "freak out" mode right now. We have to be patient.

I hope you feel better today! :)

Water, water ,water swelling swelling swelling all this is going on so the scale wont move until all this is under control and that takes healing. You will get there, this part is tough because we all want to start seeing the loss it will happen but not for awhile heal first.

You are still healing for many more weeks. Some will lose and lot's will not lose weight. Be patient! It took a long time for you to get in an over weight condition. The weight will start dropping once your swelling goes down, you start moving more with exercise, walking, shopping, etc. Stay on course, sip Water, liquid Protein.

Best wishes

Stick to the program. You will be able to add calories as you add in foods. Healing time causes strange results! Good luck!

My weight loss came to a screeching halt post surgery. As soon as I started back on solid foods it picked up again.

It is very normal. As everyone has said you are still swollen and healing so my best advise is to put the scale away and focus on healing.

Try not to get frustrated, the post op diet is hard. You can do this.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
