Is it just sore hurt, or like incision pain hurt :(?

The port site will hurt for a while. It is the largest, most invasive cut with the stitching, etc. Mine was sore for the first 4-6 weeks. It gets better though. Hang in there.

I'm about 3 months out and I hardly notice mine anymore. I asked my nurse today if that was normal, she said that I had a new slimmer port and that I really shouldn't feel it unless it gets hit directly or after a fill.

I am eight weeks out and can honestly say that just this week I can't even tell where it is! Cannot feel the port anymore!

Gosh the past day or so its really sore, I still have the bandages on (9 days post op) and there is no redness to make me think infection but I am pretty sure that big lump is the port and associated swelling. It's actually most sore next to the bandage (vs under) where the lump is. I assume this is what you are all taking about?

Hi Dolphintat, I don't have any lumps. Ya the other incisions are fun, just the port, guess this takes longer o heal.

I'm 2 weeks out and I have lumps in all the incisions but I was told it was the stiches they put from the inside. As for pain I feel nothing. Last week the incisions were all itchy and drove me crazy but this weekend I am able to lay on my stomach and I feel perfectly normal.

Is it the norm for the port to be above the largest incision? My surgery was on the 7th & that is the only place that I have experienced pain, I thought it was my port. Now, when I lay down I can feel a hard bump just beside it in the center of my abdomen about 5" above my belly button & this is where the real deep pain is coming from. I'm not sure where my port is, I asked the recovery room nurses before I was discharged & they said they weren't sure & that my surgeon had just gone began her next surgery.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
