Hey All,

Almost 2 months banded and about to get my 2nd fill. I have a question about Protein. I've been drinking Muscle Milk brand because it tastes good. I've tried others and they are nauseating. Is this good protein? The only problem is that my doctor said I should replace a meal for these? When I drink a muscle milk I'm full but only for like 20 mins. What Protein shakes do you drink? Which are better tasting and satisfying?

The drinks are good to help get in extra Protein but they aren't going to fill you up. You should be taking in solid protein, if you can. To really feel satiated between meals solid food/protein is what will work. For Breakfast, better choices would be eggs, oatmeal (after I cook mine I add a couple egg whites and cook for 2 minutes.. sounds gross but is yummy, then add a couple pecans or walnuts and fruit pieces), there are high protein cereals, Greek yogurt (Dannon Light & Fit is good).... I think that is what your dr. is suggesting, not another drink but an actual meal.

You need to transition to getting more and more of your Protein from regular food. eggs, tender meats, etc. I don't think you want to live forever on Muscle Milk!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
