Post Slip and Post Esophagus Dilatation

Recommended Posts

After a complete unfill in the beginning of December, due to a slip and esophagus dilatation, I am now back on my way to fills. My 1st fill was (sorry Im a 4cc band) 1.5cc, second was .5 and third was .5. I could still use another one, im able to eat apples, breads and not feel the same restriction that I had before I was symptomatic. Prior to being symptomatic I was at 3.5cc, that's when my problems started, to date im at 2.5. Im hoping another .5 will bring me to where I need to be, I sure would like to see some weight loss. Im thinking the esophagus can easily dilate once its already been stretched and the success rate for weight loss is very low.

Is there someone out there that has been successful after having my same issues? Or did you go for a revision surgery?

It's tough refilling an emptied band, from what I've heard. I know many on our FB page that were never able to get back to where they were. Many with the older 4cc bands have had them removed and replaced with newer bands or revised to sleeve. Those who got new bands have had mixed results with about half ending up revising to sleeve/rny in the end, or even just removing it. If you'd like to join our FB group pm me for the link. I had my band unfilled 7 months ago, am still restricted, but I can eat bread. I rarely do though. I still am having reflux and motility issues, so may end up revising, though I really don't want to. Good luck to you!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
