Any February 2013 Bandsters?

Are there any others set to get banded in February? My doctor's office called to tell me my insurance approved me & set my surgery date for the first! After going back & forth for a couple years & now just completing the 6 months (well technically 7 months) weight loss consultations, it's going to happen. I'm not so sure how to feel about it. Nervous? Excited? Worried? Happy? I thought I'd see if anyone else is getting ready for it all, & see how they're dealing with it. Input from veteran bandsters would be great too! :) Tips on what to expect, need, & advice would be greatly appreciated.

Doing good. A little groggy, no gas pains yet. Had an anxiety attack right after surgery, could not breathe (hyperventillated) and sat straight up and oh the pain. Going home now.

Hello everyone

My surgery was on the 8th of Feb. I am doing good so for. Still sore in the port area. I was on liquids after surgery and starving. Called surgeon amd was told I could eat soft solids. Nothing in my band at this point. Not expecting to lose weight until after my first fill. Does anyone know a good tasting protein shake?

I use to drink medifast shakes and those were probably the best protein shakes I have tried. U might be able to order them online but my surgeon has me drinking arbonne shakes right now for pre-op. not too bad but a little chalky tasting. I think u can order those online as well and cause they sale all different kinds of products like beauty products, dietary supplements, spa supplies and the list goes on. I also googled recipes for band patients and some protein shakes popped up.

Question: I was banded 2/7 & my belly is really itchy! Has anyone else had this problem? It's not the incisions but around them. Pleae help, it's driving me nuts...

I was banded last friday and have been itchy everywhere. I am told that everything is healing and it will go away. I have claw marks from scratching.

We both share that date, hope your surgery went well.

I was banded last Thursday and am super itchy. You have to bear it cause instructions on paper says no lotions on stomach. Hang in there ...it will get better.

Me too 7:30 Pacific. Getting so excited!!!

I had mine done last Friday .....just feeling like myself a bit tonight. I'm mentally starving.....physically not hungry at all!

Hi I'm new here. I was approved about 3 weeks ago and now I'm scheduled for surgery this Friday 2-22. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. Like many posts I've read, I've chosen not to tell anyone about my surgery except for my mom and a 1 co-worker, not because of lack of support that I may or may not get, but because it's no ones business but mine. I work at the same hospital that I'm having my surgery, so I'm sure other co-workers will find out sooner or later.

I'm just finishing up my 2 weeks of the pre-op liquid diet, which I'm sure other past Banders know, has been very difficult. I'm just hoping that all goes well with my surgery and can't wait for my new life on the other side.

Well I can honestly say its been an emontional couple days! I was banded 2/8! So far so good except I had fluid coming from my port site the other night turns out it was nothing except sercum fluid thank goodness! Still real itchy mainly due to I am allergic to every thing that gets stuck to my belly that has addesive on it! I have lose 3 pound since surgery which was only 11 days ago so heck yeah! I am already starting to excerise a little not to much really! I can't go back to work for another 3 weeks which I don't like mainly cause I am bored out of my mind! I have started on some craft projects and they are all but finished does anybody have any ideas on how to keep the boredom away! I can't return to work due to at my job I lift all day!

Well my big day is on Thursday, I am starting to get nervous.....but excited at the same time! I am so done with this pre-op diet and ready to move onto the post-op stage. The thing that worries me the most is not being able to sleep on my stomach and those dreaded gas pains! Congrats to all the banded members of February and the ones to come, I look forward to keeping in touch with your journies!!
