Had surgery 11/27. Second post op visit to Dr today. 39 lbs down since starting pre op diet, yeah!! Had my first fill. Now here is my concern. My port is tilted. Last weekend I got up from a chair, apparently too quickly, and had immediate pain just above port. Had the same pain off and on for the next dat or two. When I went for my fill today, the PA said the port is tilted and that I probably tore a stitch and that is what the pain was. He didn't really seem concerned about it, but I'm wondering if the port is stable enough to exercise, or if there is a chance that since its tilted, can the other stitches tear. I've read about ports flipping, and would like to avoid that if at all possible. Anybody else out there with a tilted port??

First of all, it would be best to ask your medical team all of these questions.

Secondly, at my second last fill, my surgeon had difficulty accessing my port (ouch!) and said it had tilted. He said it could be a precursor to my port flipping but that he sutured it in place so well that it was highly unlikely to happen.

The difference between you and I is that I was about 18 months post op at that point whereas you are still fairly newly post op.

Since then, I have continued to exercise vigorously and have had another fill without any difficulties - i.e. my tilt self-corrected.

Good luck.

WOW thats awesome you have lost 39 lbs! We were banded on the same day and I am stuck at 22 lbs! i'm going in for my month (plus a week) follow up today and going to ask if I can have a fill. I feel like i didn't even have surgery. I do feel fuller quicker but thats about it. i'm nervous about seeing the doctor today b/c i feel like I should of lost more. oh well- still motivated and i know this can work.

My port is tilted too. I exercise daily and the soc isnt woried about it flipping. The only difficulties is having fills cuz the have to fish around with the needle. Yes it hurts but totaly worth it

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
