Day 2 of the pre-op diet. I actually started it a day early because I have a friend coming to town on Friday' date=' and I wanted to get over the "hump" of the first 3 days that everyone says is the worst. Hope that's true!

I was freaking out yesterday because I thought the shakes tasted disgusting, but I am handling them OK now. Only had 2 yesterday, not the prescribed 3, which I know is not good, so it's 3 a day from here on out.

Boyfriend cooked his own stir-fry last night, and it smelled divine. Even a banana right now seems like a bacon cheeseburger. I will make it. I am an all-or-nothing girl, and I'm gonna rock this.

Hi Becky. Claudia here. You are too cute. The worst Is seeing n smelling all that good food all the time. I am 2 weeks post op with a family of six so Its been pretty hard for me, since I still cook dinner for the fam. I have after post op cheated a couple of times but just realized that it's a huge no no n band can actually slip. Hang in there girl. It seems like your pretty determined. Congratulation on your future band n good luck on your pre-op n post-op diet

Got my band yesterday! So far so good - I've got some trapped air in my shoulders and chest that's bothering me, but other than that I feel great for having had surgery yesterday. :)

About how long was it before you felt the gas in your shoulder? I don't have any yet and I am just wondering if it might show up later.

Mine started two or three hours after surgery, after I'd had my upper GI and once I started walking around.

Mine started when I got home, so it was about 6 hours after my surgery. I may have had it before, but I was getting good pain Meds in the hospital.

Banded at 1pm today. Everything has gone very smooth! All of the hospital staff have been super great. Feeling ok, just super tired and groggy. At this point I am only allowed ice chips but eating or drinking is not even a concern for me right now. My ONLY complaint is that I have a super obnoxious (non-banded) 'roommate' who has called a good 15-20 people since about 6pm, she's loud and rude to the very sweet nurse we have. :( hehe. She even gave one person a very detailed over-the-phone recipe for her own spaghetti sauce. Omg!! Not much pain from surgery, but this lady is bound to send me into Migraine mode. :) good luck to all, I know I am very excited to have finally started this part of my journey!!

It's been about 7 hours and I just felt a little but not bad. My nurse had a different take on the shoulder pain than I have heard online. She said that it is from gas that gets trapped around the diaphragm and like other kinds of body pains, it refers up to the shoulder. She told me if it gets bad to lie down. I know things are different for everyone but I thought I would share that point of view.

The really strange thing is I have tummy soreness, but feel no indication that I have a Lap band now, especially because I am still on the clear liquid phrase. I don't know why I thought I might feel a little different. It's like walden I was first pregnant and I didn't FEEL pregnant but I knew the symptoms were coming. Worst pain so far is a headache but God Bless my doctor who told me I could go ahead and have a small amount of caffeine to help.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
