R-Sheryl and gowalking, good luck tomorrow! Mine is on Tuesday! Can't believe it is almost here! I've been having some trouble with either my potassium or B12 levels-- not sure which! I've been waking up with my hands numb and this is what was happening when I originally found out those two things were low. I called my surgeon on Friday. He said he would do extensive blood work on Tuesday morning before he puts me under. So, if it crosses anybody's mind please say a prayer for me that these things will be ok and my surgery can go forth as planned and won't have to be rescheduled!

So I'm curriouse as to what kind of pre op diets e everyone is on ' date=' mine , light breakfast(eggs), shake for lunch, dinner, ( 4-6 oz of lean meat, and a veggie, usually a salad, and 4 th meal shake( usually don't have it) also can have sf popcicles, sf Jello, and more vegies, sf candies is this average,.... I notice someone had said just shakes and broth..just curiouse[/quote']

Mine is pretty much the same as yours except for the 4th meal and for two weeks.

I heard a story about a guy that didn't follow his preop at all and they couldn't do his surgery! They opened him up only to find his liver was huge and hard as a rock. So they opened him up only to tell him that! And that he didn't have the band. Can u imagine how horrible that would be? And he had to pay for it!!

That story I think of often and it keeps me on track

Im finishing day 5 pre op. I have been great all week. Tonight has been very hard. Its the weekend and I really am not feeling the mixture of broth with popsicles and Jello :(. I still have not been able to drink six shakes. Ive only been able to drink 3 a day. I plan to go get a massage tomorrow to keep my mind off everything. I hope next week is better.

Sent from my SPH-L710 using LapBandTalk

I would try to stick to doctors orders as much as possible but since i am hard headed I ate all the way up to the last 24 hours and have been doing good so far I'm knocking on wood lol

I had my surgery Thursday and I have barely eaten since. I need suggestions on this liquid post op diet. I barely eat or drink anything I just can't make myself. I've lost 8 pounds since Thursday.

Did your Dr. give you guidelines? If so, follow those. For the first 4 days I couldn't even get 800 calories down. Day 4 and 5 hunger kicked in and I got up to 1200, day 6 600 calories. The things that kept me alive were full sugar popsicles, gatorade, cranberry juice and homemade chicken broth.< /p>

BTW, I dropped 11 pounds the first 5 days.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
