Hello All,
Although I have viewed the forums before, I didn't join until today. I had surgery in September 2012 and feel like this will be a great way to stay motivated and connected going into the new year!
I just had my 3rd fill last week taking me to 4.5cc in a 10cc band. I am down 38lbs so far and couldn't be happier with my weight loss progress to this point! I am still feeling pretty tight after my last fill, but it seems to be getting better each day. . .part of it is me learning to eat slower and take smaller bites
.
This is also the first time that I am really feeling a good amount of restriction, so I guess the adjustment time is the pay off.
I have been heavy most of my life and struggle with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), Endometriosis, and starting almost two years ago crippling headaches from Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (IIH). I was told the #1 thing I could do to manage the over production of Fluid and pressure on my brain (thus relieving the headaches) was to lose 20% to 30% of my body weight. Enduring one spinal tap to relieve pressure and two major episodes was enough to convince me to take drastic action and get help with the weight loss. So far this is one of the best decisions I have made in my adult life (marrying my husband ranks up there too!).
I look forward to learning, sharing, and growing (in a metaphorical way of course
)with all of you!
Mia
