Surgery today around 4:30.pm. I'm nauseous and in pain but know I'll feel better soon!

Lisa, I was banded this afternoon too and I just screamed for more pain meds. This gas issue is soooo bad! I'm a tough cookie but this is horrible. They also repaired a hiatel hernia while he was in there. I had no clue. I've been walking but haven't had anything to eat or drink since prior to midnight yesterday. Because they repaired the hernia I can't drink anything until I have a barium test tomorrow. I've never wanted a glass if Water more than I do now. I feel like I've been in the Mohave dessert for a month. I keep saying I will get they this, and more importantly I have to succeed after this pain and experience. There are no options for anything but success. Hope you feel better soon too. I've been asking the nurses for hot packs to place on my shoulders etc. it's soothing, not sure how much it actually rids the gas, but it feels better.

Also had surgery yesterday (28th), only real pain I have is in left shoulder, I was told that happens when you get hernia repair. Walking helps almost instantly for me. Have felt kind of gassy but gas x seems to work. Taking codeine when needed but on the lower dose. Took twice yesterday , nothing today so far. Each day I hope to feel better and better. Going to spend some time outside today, i'm sure the fresh air wil help. Good luck to all who have recently been banded.???

You all will be fine. We all endured and it was fine. Welcome to the other side of banding.

I had my hernia repaired as well during banding and I was never told I couldn't drink Water. Odd that you would be told this. liquids shouldn't hurt the repair. What if your testing fails, they surely won't go back in an re-repair the hernia this close to your other surgery. Ask your family doctor for advice on Water.< /p>

Walking, more walking and use your heating pad on your collarbone area on the side of gas pains. I used my pad for hours a day in 15-20 minutes at a time all day long. 24 hours and 99% of my discomfort was gone.

Best wishes

Hi all, well this is day 2 and they kept me for another night because the hernia test they gave me this morning was terrible. I had to swallow this concoction that tasted like dawn dish soap and bitter pills. I don't know how I got it down without it coming up. The hernia is ok but I guess when you have hernia repairs it makes everything tighter. They kept me in the hospital another day because they said I haven't got enough fluids in on my own. I'm hoping this all becomes a faint memory. It's been tough. I couldn't even take in s whole Popsicle today.

Oh that stuff was awful. Surprised I didn't puke. Did they give you a clean wet wash cloth to wipe your mouth out?

Maddy, I've never tasted anything that rancid in my life. Yes they gave me a mouth sponge and the sink because it was just awful. I think that's why I've been feeling so nauseous and sick today. I couldn't put anything up to my lips all day, I feel like a truck has hit me square in the diaphragm. I am really starting to feel depressed about this, I just want to feel better!

Keep your head up RichGirl!!! This will be a memory soon and you will make it through. Ask for ice chips. May be easier to get those down to start. Best wishes and good vibes coming your way!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
