Anyone Get A Horrible Taste On Pre Op Diet?

I am on day 4 of the liquid preop diet and have the worst taste in my mouth. It is nauseating. It's almost like a fake sweet taste. Did anyone else get this?

Yep, I got it too. I started adding peppermint extract to my chocolate shakes and it really took away the sweet taste.

I also brushed my teeth and tongue a lot...lol

guess what? i got that same taste too. unfortanetly for me i still have it. :(

it started with my pre op Fluid diet and now one week post op i still have it, even though it is less now.

i will see my doctor monday and i will bring this up. my sister (not banded) said it's because my body was detoxing from all the gunk/junk in my insestines, yuck! i kinda believe her. when growing up i remember when i told my mom that i had a "tummy ache" she would say let me see you tounge, yeah castrol oil it was...lol :/

but i agree that lots of teeth and tounge brushing really helps!!! good luck to you and keep us posted!

Your body is in ketosis. As long as it is in ketosis it will be there along with bad breath. It's great lol
