Mama2girls, Your surg is 4 days before mine. We'll be ok. I did see the surgeon today for my preop visit and start my Liquid Protein on Nov. 26th....I had gained 5lbs today...knew I had been stress eating and go in and out of thinking this is my last pizza, burger etc. I know that is fear and stress at work. My husband said don't stress over your weight that's why you're getting the surg. He's so right.

Have u gotten your Protein Drinks? I guess I'll be drinking the Equate Meal Replacements from Walmart because it is the cheapest and I think taste good. Take a deep breath honey cause we're on our way ;) Effie

Make sure the Protein drinks you get are less than 5 grams of sugar. You need to shrink your liver so they can do your band

Had to go get some new jeans today. It killed me to buy 18-20. I just kept telling myself this is the last pair.

Sheilalm123,

Thanks for the info. Some of my drinks are over 5 grams of sugar, but still on my doc list for what he wants me to drink for the preop. He wants meals replacements and not just Protein drinks at least for the preop. I see your surg. is before mine on the 6th mine is the 10th.....are u stressed?

NaNcyNiCole, At least you're looking good while you'll be losing. I usually wear stretch pants and the jeans I have are all elastic bands. One day I'll be zipping and snapping Ha ;)

My date is December 4th' date=' I am I Virginia.... A little nervous. I will be starting my pre- op dieting on the 27th of November. My Protein drink of choice is Lean shake at GNC. It comes in strawberry, vanilla bean and chocolate...[/quote']

Lucky! I have to start my pre-op on 11/20. Thanksgiving is going to be rough! I'm in Illinois. I've been testing out the low-carb Isopure. Not too bad.

I know what you mean. I need a winter coat right now but can't bring myself to buy one because I'm losing this weight and won't be able to use it next year! Plus it makes me so mad when most stores only go up to 2x and the 2x are snug on me. I remember back when I wore small and mediums. I can't wait to buy a normal size again!

I kinda wish my preop was before Thanksgiving, cause I sure don't need anymore weight to lose. Sometimes the anticipatory anxiety of waiting is harder than actually getting started.

I'm totally freaked out. Went to the grocery store today and just blanked on what to feed my family next week. Good news is all the broth is bogo right now, so that's nice. Thanksgiving with my mom will be good, she is making turkey for me, but Friday when the rest of the family is around wil be hard. I an not telling my sisters about this yet, and don't know if I ever will....

My pre op would have started Thanksgiving Day, but my nutritionist thought that would be too hard, so we are starting early, monday, instead. Plus, that just gives me a few extra days to shrink my liver. They told me a woman had her surgery canceled because she didn't do the pre op properly and her liver was too large. Now I'm freaking out about any carbs. I'm supposed to stay under 30 grams daily

Just focus on getting in your Protein Shakes and Water and take one day at a time...rem. you can do this. I'm sure you've been on many diets like myself, so you know you can do it! It's the keeping it off that the problem---now we'll have some help. So take one day at a time and stay busy....write Christmas cards ;) Have a good night! Effie

I can understand not telling. I told a friend and she spent the next ten minutes telling me the dangers of the lapband surg and what a bad choice. So that did me no more. I'm saying having a hiatial hernia repair and because of my ulcer have to be on a very limited diet. I don't have to explain anything to anybody....don't need anymore stress. Anyhow can't help but think there's some jealousy! I'm just going to do what I need to do and keep my eye on the tiger ;). Holidays are overrated anyhow!!! Effie

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
