Ok, so I am having surgery on Thursday and I lost 9.5 lbs on pre op diet. Wish I lost more. Anything I can do to push it some more? Besides exercise? Thanks!

I think you've done great so far. I lost 10 on the pre-op and mine was 2 weeks long. I think you should just stay the course and not worry about the numbers. I have learned that this is a process and it takes time for your body to adjust. I see people write on these boards over and over - "don't focus on the scale" and although it sounds counter-intuitive, it's true. Just follow your doctors orders and focus on fueling yourself with healthy food and nutrients after the surgery and you will set yourself up to succeed.

Best wishes!

Wow, 22 lbs?! That's awesome!! I am starting to get nervous. I call hospital today to find out what time tomorrow. It's going to be in the afternoon because my dr has morning hours at the office. That's going to stink big time. All that time without even a SIP of Water :( let's definitely keep each other updated!!

Good advice! Dr Phil said once that if you lead a thin persons life your body will follow.

I got where I am today focusing on the scale, diet didn't work? Not losing fast enough? Screw it!

With the band you have no way of saying that you're giving up. Sure you can switch to slider foods but you still can't gorge yourself in huge meals, your band won't let you.

I love my scale and I weigh myself daily just to keep myself focused. However I accept what I see gain loss or stall! It's just information! It does not measure my success! Actually LIVING A BETTER ME DOES!

I hear you sista! I had mine at 1pm and when you're nervous your mouth goes dry. You can do it! Those ice chips will go down nicely when you're done. Don't forget your Chapatick, a must must.

Thoughts & Prayers with you friend!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
